Message from the Director

Dear Friends, Supporters, and Visitors,

It is with deep gratitude and unwavering hope that I welcome you to Newtons Junior Schools—a place where dreams are nurtured, futures are built, and every child matters.

When we started this school, it was more than just a response to the lack of access to quality education in our community. It was a calling—to give children, especially those from underprivileged and vulnerable backgrounds, the tools they need to rise above their circumstances. Education, to us, is not just about books and classrooms—it is about dignity, opportunity, and transformation.

Every child who walks through our gates carries a story. Some are orphans. Some come from homes affected by poverty, hunger, or conflict. But when they enter our school, they are met with love, care, and belief—belief in who they are and what they can become.

At Newtons Junior School, we strive to provide more than education. We provide a daily meal for the hungry, shelter for the forgotten, and hope for the discouraged. We do this with the help of dedicated teachers, selfless volunteers, and kind-hearted sponsors from around the world. And yet, the need is still great.

For just 1,000 Ugandan Shillings a day—about a quarter of a dollar—you can help a child stay in school and receive a nutritious meal. This small act can make the difference between a child dropping out or discovering their full potential.

I also extend a heartfelt invitation to anyone who wishes to volunteer with us. Whether you’re here for a few weeks or a few months, you will leave transformed—just as the lives you touch will be transformed too.

Together, we can build a community where no child is left behind, where compassion leads, and where education unlocks destiny.

Thank you for visiting our website. Thank you for believing in our children. Thank you for being part of our journey.

With gratitude and hope,

Ssembatya Umaru Newtons
